  1. Hello Rob,
Go thoroughly to your website and thanks for sharing the information/your experience with the beginners like me.
Myself Kiran and I have a 5-6 years of experience in software testing, tested various websites and software applications. During my career in software testing career I am attracting towards web designing and hence joined some basic html class, got some basic training of html and css but not have any professional expertise . Now left my job (software test Engineer) and starting a web design work as a freelancer (with basic / begineers knowledge of html/css) considering when I start doing some projects professionally it will boost my confidence and basic skills into expertise.
But investing after three months in terms of efforts and time, the things going worst and I degrade my confidence level (because of lack of knowledge and skill sets). Now in confusion that,
    1) is it my right decision (left job as test engineer and start web design work)?
    2) I have 3-4 web design projects in hand, but no one is completed. I can’t understand how to complete it?
    3) The market trends bothering me viz. the web site builder available, using this without technical knowledge just drag and drop we can design website in half an hour, then why people/client come to the designer?
Kindly help/suggest me how to overcome the negative thoughts regarding this. Please Rob am so upset and can’t take any firm decision and hope you can help me positively.
    Thanks in advance.
    Warm Regards,
    Kiran.

I’ve already emailed you about this, Kiran, but I’m sorry not to have replied to this comment here. Just to say, don’t worry about the cheap/free website builders. They are not your competition. You need to concentrate on the businesses that want a great website that increases their business, who are prepared to pay for it and pay retainers for ongoing support.
